Do Your Part During Random Acts Of Kindness Week

February 9, 2015

Imagine standing in line at your favorite coffee shop, and learning that another customer has already paid for your drink. This is sure to put a smile on your face, right? The great feeling that a nice gesture provides can oftentimes be contagious, leaving a positive impact on your day which encourages you to perform a random act of kindness as well. This is what Random Acts Of Kindness Week (RAK Week) is all about, and you can start the trend just by reading this article and passing the kindness on!

Valentine’s Day Isn’t The Only Special Thing About Feb. 14

It just so happens that RAK Week falls during the week of Valentine’s Day, which makes the week even more special. Oftentimes, many people get left out of the Valentine’s Day festivities if they are single, going through a breakup, battling a medical condition, or for any other reason. Because of this, many people don’t receive cards, gifts, and candies on Valentine’s Day, but RAK Week provides the perfect opportunity to give to everyone, and not just your sweetheart.

RAK Week is held from Feb. 9-15, so that gives you a full week to do something kind for others. Maybe you will aim to make one kind gesture each day of the week, several times throughout the week, or just once. Even one kind gesture will create a positive impact on someone else’s day!

Kindness Matters

The Random Acts Of Kindness Foundation is an international nonprofit organization striving to spread kindness around the world. Help The Random Acts Of Kindness Foundation in achieving their mission of spreading kindness by simply attempting a random act of kindness during the week of Feb. 9-15. The organization has plenty of great kindness ideas available for you to try, whether you’re at home, in the office, at school, on campus, or in any other public place.

During RAK Week, use social media as much as possible and use #RAKWeek with all of your posts. The Random Acts of Kindness Foundation will feature their favorite posts throughout the week! If you saw a random act of kindness take place (or maybe it happened to you), please submit the story to spread a little kindness around the world.

Make A Difference In The Lives Of Others

Wheels For Wishes is proud to be a Kind Resource for The Random Acts Of Kindness Foundation. At Wheels For Wishes, we accept car donations on behalf of Make-A-Wish, which helps to make a difference in the lives of children battling critical illnesses. We strive each and every day to make a difference in the lives of children between the ages of 2 ½ and 18. Wishes help to bring hope, strength, and joy back into the lives of Wish Kids and their families.

Since we are strong believers in the thought that one small gesture can make a huge difference in the lives of others, we at Wheels For Wishes encourage you to participate in RAK Week. Not only will you be doing something kind for others, but it will also help you to feel amazing and positive as well.

Kindness Ideas For You To Try

The Random Acts Of Kindness Foundation has so many great kindness ideas that are sure to be appealing to just about anyone. Even if you’re shy and not as comfortable with stepping outside of your comfort zone, or maybe you’re stuck in the same routine and aren’t much for change, there are plenty of kindness ideas to fit your personality and your schedule. Try some of the following ideas which are perfect for everyone!

Kindness ideas go on and on, so be sure to visit the RAK Week website for more ideas, tools, and resources!

Get Involved, Make A Difference

RAK Week is one of the easiest ways to make a difference because it doesn’t necessarily involve money or making cash donations. Rather, RAK Week is about making a difference through actions, helping someone in need, or changing some of your daily habits. Even smiling at a stranger and saying “hi” or “good morning” can count as a kind gesture. You never know how a stranger’s day is going and how much a smile or a greeting could mean to them.

How do you plan to participate in RAK Week? We’d love to hear your ideas! Please share your Kind Ideas and RAK Week plans on our Facebook or Twitter  pages and remember to use the hashtag #RAKWeek.

Help to make the world a better place by spreading kindness around the world. It all starts with you during RAK Week!
